Survivor Training in Beijing

SPI and LOSS went to Beijing in 2010 to do three day intensive training program for mental health professionals at the Beijing Suicide Research and Prevention Centre on how to help survivors of suicide. The group was trained in organizing and leading support groups and in providing individual treatment when indicated. Father Charles Rubey, the priest and social worker in Chicago who founded the LOSS program lead the LOSS group. Dr. Michael Phillips, Executive Director of the Beijing Suicide Research and Prevention Center requested the training for his staff. He is one of the leading experts on suicide prevention in Asia.
